A Bit of History

For over 76 years, Humania Assurance Inc. has offered comprehensive insurance. We have been around since 1874, having got our start with the founding of L’Union Saint-Joseph de Saint-Hyacinthe, a fraternal benefit society. We would not become a true insurance company until 1938 when we were renamed the LS Mutual Life Insurance Company.

A New Name

LS Mutual Life Insurance Company became Humana Assurance Inc. in 2013. We had entered a new stage in our history and wanted to renew our corporate identity. Our new name is more evocative of the dynamic and modern organization it is today.

New Product: “Humania Assurance – Insurance Without Medical Exam”

Humania Assurance has recently launched a new, digitally distributed and managed insurance product. Term Life Insurance

This insurance comes in terms from 10 to 40 years. You have full control over how long you need coverage. It is renewable without a medical exam.

Permanent Life Insurance

No Medical Life Insurance

This life insurance product allows you to get insured up to $100,000 without a medical exam. You can purchase this policy for those as young as 6 months up to 80 years of age.

Critical Illness Insurance

Industrial Alliance’s critical illness insurance is offered for adults and children. Insure individuals for $10,000 to $2 million. You can also choose the duration of the coverage including 10 or 20 year terms, to age 75, or for a lifetime.

Disability Insurance
