I'm healthy, why do I need health insurance?
Getting your health insurance while you are healthy is one of the best decisions that you can make. If you become ill or injured, it will be harder to get coverage, as a personal health plan will have to be underwritten. In addition, pre-existing conditions are not covered, but in many cases after one year without any issues some pre-existing conditions can be covered. A Blue Cross Plan will give you peace of mind knowing that whatever health issues life brings your way, you are protected!

Doesn't my provincial plan cover my health care?
Your provincial plan (MCP) provides a certain level of coverage for our residents such as surgeries or doctor visits, however, MCP does not cover prescription drugs, dental or even treatments that occur outside of the hospital or the doctors' office, we are responsible for these ourselves. Accidents and illness can be expensive and should you become ill or injured and unable to work, your coverage will pay for itself. Get your Elements Plan today!

What are the advantages of a Medavie Blue Cross Health Plan?
Our plans have no overall drug maximums (most other plans have annual caps). Our plans are for life. (Most other plans terminate at 65 or 70, just when you will probably need them the most.) After $4,500 in drug usage it's free: 100% taken care of. There are many options for claims including E-claims, E-pay, and Quick pay at our office in St. John's. The biggest advantage is me, I am here to help you every step of the way!

Can I afford to have health coverage? Can you afford not to have health coverage? What are the costs?
An Elements Health Plan from Blue Cross can be tailored to your personal needs and price range which makes it very flexible and affordable. The premium is based on the age of the oldest adult, plan features and family demographics. For a business owner the premiums are tax deductible. For Individuals it can go on your tax forms under "medical expenses". Contact your tax advisor to see if you are eligible! Plans may be more affordable than you think!

Are there any options for my children after high school? Would they come off my plan?
Your children can stay on your plan until age 21, or to age 25 if still attending a post-secondary educational institute. When your children outgrow your plan they can get their own plan without medical underwriting.

What information will I need when applying for a health insurance?
